HR Officer

We are looking to recruit a HR Officer based at the Jaguar Land Rover - Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton supporting the Automotive side of the syncreon business.

 

About the Role

 

As a HR Officer based on-site, providing high quality and professional assistance and support for our busy and fast paced operation, you will work alongside our operational and functional management teams to ensure we meet the needs of the business, our customer and syncreon team members. You will be involved in all aspects of the HR life cycle - recruitment, onboarding, retention, absence management, performance management, training and development, employee engagement, HR policies and procedures. 

 

 

How you will contribute

  • Provide HR advice to syncreon managers/supervisors on issues related to disciplinary, grievance and appeal and support in meetings in line with the Company’s disciplinary and grievance policies and procedures
  • Manage the absence process, liaise with line managers/supervisors and provide advice and guidance on issues related to the Company absence policy and procedure

  • Assist with the recruitment and selection process including preparing adverts, participating in interviews and preparation of new starter paperwork and issuing of contracts of employment

  • Assist with training and development needs within the business through the Company appraisal scheme and regular consultation with line managers

  • Assist the Senior HR Advisor with HR projects including changes to working practices, undertaking relevant research related to new policies and procedures and assisting with implementation across the business

  • Support with site employee engagement activities 

  • Support the administrative tasks relating to all areas of the HR function within the business where required

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • Experience working within a HR Generalist role previously
  • Fully CIPD Qualified or working towards full qualification

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of UK employment law

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence others in a positive manner

  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues and counsel managers on complex HR issues

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with line managers, Trade Union representatives and colleagues

  • Proficient use of Word, PowerPoint, HRIS, Excel and Outlook

Salary: £30,600 per annum 

Annual Leave: 25 days per annum plus statutory bank holidays 

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday - 7:00-15:30 and Friday 07:00-14:30 (role based on-site)
