About the Role

Position Summary:

The Assistant Plant Manager supports the Plant Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective manufacturing of products while meeting quality standards and production goals. This role is critical in leading plant staff, improving processes, maintaining compliance, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Plant Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating overall plant operations to achieve production and quality targets.
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate frontline supervisors and hourly personnel to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics, identifying opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Support inventory control, scheduling, labor management, and capacity planning efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, downtime, and costs.
  • Participate in hiring, training, and performance management of plant employees.
  • Serve as acting Plant Manager during absences or as assigned.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence across shifts.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, logistics, and other departments to resolve issues and streamline operations.

Qualifications Summary

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in logistics, plant operations, and third-party logistics (3PL) environments.
  • Deep expertise in lean manufacturing principles, safety compliance, and quality management systems.
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, and executing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills with a strategic mindset and results-oriented approach.
