Industrial Engineer

Interested in joining a dynamic and growing 3PL as an Industrial Engineer where lots of engineering challenges await? Our engineering team, based in Torrance, CA, working on continuous improvements, operational efficiencies and layout, are looking for a motivated and experienced colleague with a strong background in supply chain management.

About the Role
  • Responsible for conducting work studies to analyze work systems and develop standards; provide allowance and improvements to existing systems;
  • Provide input for the development of functional layouts that minimize space, material transit distance and provide flexibility for expansion;
  • Utilize simulation software to analyze and improve work systems; assess ergonomic factors in work systems and provide solutions/design factors to minimize RMI (Repetitive Motion Injuries) and accommodate the functional range of workers;
  • Utilize Lean Standards including Line Balance, PFEP, Value Stream Maps, Engineering Studies, and Resource Requirement Sheets to perform duties;
  • Provide input for the development of process FMEA’s and Control plans for existing and potential work systems;
  • Research, justify, and recommend capital expenditures;
  • Provide support for STD work, 5S, TPM, JIT, and Mistake Proofing;
  • Use Slotting, MTM, Time Study, Network Optimization, Simulation, AutoCAD LT, Project Management, Value Stream Maps, Pivot Tables and Lean Six Sigma Methodologies to complete assigned tasks; and update layouts using AutoCAD LT.

Education: Masters Degree – Industrial Engineering, Business Logistics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);


Training: None


Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as a Regional Industrial Engineer, or in a related occupation.


Other Requirements: Experience must include two (2) years use of all the following: 5S, Slotting, MTM, Time Study, Network Optimization, Simulation, AutoCAD LT, Project Management, Value Stream Maps, Pivot Tables and Lean Six Sigma Methodologies.


Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
