Engineering & Continous Improvement Manager

Currently we are looking for an experienced Engineering & Continuous Improvement Manager who will be responsible for leading and developing the engineering team in Tilburg. As an Engineering & Continuous Improvement Manager you will be responsible for leading all Operational Engineering activities on the syncreon site in Tilburg as well as defining and delivering a Continuous Improvement Program. Your priorities will include the development of your team, optimizing existing processes and layouts, new product introductions, customer proposals, assessing new technologies and innovations, improving existing capabilities and delivering new capabilities. About the Role

How you will contribute

  • Responsible for the smooth day to day running of the team including scoping, planning, implementation and delivery of all Engineering activities, ensuring they are on time and on budget;
  • Create, maintain and deliver a Continuous Improvement Program in conjunction with key stakeholders;
  • Build a high performing team through proper care and management of the team, coaching, mentoring and development of people through personal development and training plans, leading to succession plans and career pathing;
  • Creating and Management of an Engineering portfolio with projects that can be undertaken by Bachelors and Masters students. You will also be responsible for the management of the delivery of these projects as well as supporting and developing the students;
  • Support Tilburg Operations Management in meeting KPIs and SLAs, as well as continuously setting higher targets through efficiency improvements and waste reduction;
  • Ensuring that all activities in our Logistics Fulfilment Center and Manufacturing Operations are measured, mapped and documented correctly so that our baselines are always accurate.

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering or related field required;
  • 3+ years’ Management experience including organization, planning, workload management and prioritization. Lean Six Sigma qualifications are a plus;
  • Problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Proven track record of building, coaching, mentoring and developing high performing teams;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – verbal and written communications, presentation skills, listening, influencing and relationship building skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a dynamic environment;
  • High proficiency in MS Office;
  • Proficiency in English (Spoken and Written). 

 

Additional Information

  • There may be some travel within Europe, less than 5 – 10% annually.
  • You will directly manage a team of 4 engineers, 2 Process/Logistics and 2 Manufacturing, as well as periodic project support and interns. You will report directly to the Site Director, Tilburg.
