QEHS Manager

synceeon a DP World company are a leading provider of supply-chain solutions, we help trade flow across the globe. Our global network spans 75 countries; made up of logistics terminals, marine services, ports and economic zones. We are embarking on an exciting period of transformation and currently are recruiting for a skilled QEHS Manager to manage our Swindon and Oxford locations. Your predominant base will be Swindon, hybrid working is available but the role will also require regular travel to other sites. 

 

How you will contribute:

  • Collaborate with the Regional QEHS and Site operational teams to develop and implement a proactive QHSE strategy that focuses on reducing risk, preventing incidents and delivering a best-in-class safety culture.  
  • Provide coaching and training to managers and colleagues on the best practices for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment including supporting and advising on documentation e.g. risk assessments.
  • Develop and deliver engaging and interactive H&SE, environment, energy, and quality training sessions to new and current colleagues.
  • Lead regular safety audits, root cause analysis, and trend analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement continuous improvement initiatives.  To produce management reports outlining key findings and improvement plans.
  • Work closely with the management team to develop and implement policies, processes, and procedures that comply with statutory regulations and certification requirements.
  • Promote H&S, Environmental, and Energy Management awareness and culture in the company by organising training sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement measures related to occupational safety and accident prevention, as well as in-company environment policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of legislation and legal registers in regard to operational requirements and ensure that our legal obligations are met in line with local legislation

 

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Progressive experience performing professional level quality management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.

  • Additional education, training and/or work experience in area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.

  • Knowledge of principles and procedures used in logistics operations and practice

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent

  • Knowledge of management systems (quality, health & safety, environment)

  • Full UK drivers licence

  • Previous experience within a Health and Safety role.

  • Experience within a Logistics or Manufacturing and Production environment.

  • Superb communication skills, engaging approach to Health and Safety with wider skills in coaching and training individuals and teams.
