Sr. Commerical Manager Contract Logistics

The Senior Commercial Manager – Contract Logistics is a key sales role responsible for driving new business and expanding accounts through the sale of contract logistics and value-added services. With a high level of autonomy, this individual will lead the solution sales process while receiving strong organizational support to achieve success.

 

This is a remote role. Toronto is preferred.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develops and executes a comprehensive territory plan aimed at identifying the top regional/industry opportunities and expanding business to new accounts.
  • Generates effective leads and opportunities from the territory plan.
  • Identifies and develops relationships with key decision makers at all levels within an account.
  • Understands the customer's business (strategically, operationally, financially) and understands the customer's buying process and identify all influences, intimately understanding their requirements.
  • Works across company to create custom solutions that deliver value to our customers.
  • Takes ownership for bids/quotes and ensure all internal stakeholders in the company are aligned on any such bids and that responses are professionally administered and in line with our internal financial rules.
  • Works closely with various domestic and international colleagues in a professional manner which reflects the seniority of the role and ability to understand and account for varying business perspectives surrounding solutions to the assigned customer.
  • Maintains an open dialogue with the account executive sponsor and keeps the sponsor engaged in the account.
  • Maintains an up-to-date pipeline of current and future opportunities, quantifying number of opportunities, value of the opportunity and managing the probability to win.
  • Owns the commercial relationship and contract negotiations with customer for all new business wins and partners with colleagues in other regions on broader opportunities for select customers.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote and demonstrate positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Our Principles.
  • Establish effective leadership and participation in the HSEMS through demonstration and display of safety behaviours.
  • Actively communicate the HSEMS requirements with superintendents, foreman, contractors, and workers.
  • Participate in the review and development of materials and documentations in the HSEMS.
  • Work in accordance with the Security Management System, including the immediate reporting of any suspicious activities to senior management and/or the Security Officer.
  • Understand the consequences related to inappropriate conduct or behaviour or disregard for safety and security programs, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure workers under your direction are properly trained and educated to perform their duties.
  • Ensure that operations comply with both the law and the HSEMS.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain, or other relevant field
  • Willingness to travel at 70%
  • Relevant work experience with a proven track record in winning new customer
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Specific knowledge and experience working in the North America contract logistics market.
