Senior Logistics Engineer (m/w)

About the Role

How you will contribute

We are recruiting for a seasoned Logistics Engineer ready for multiple challenging projects, to be based in Speyer, with the following responsibilities:

  • Review existing warehouse layouts and develop warehouse layout and infrastructure solutions to satisfy new customer requirements. Present solutions to customer as required.
  • Work with project management to ensure smooth transferen of solutions to live operational environment. You will perform user acceptance testing for business integration.
  • Responsible for development and update of existing Syncreon headcount analysis tools (for direct and indirect staff) in order to analyse impact of change on business and prepare summary reports Operations manager and customer.
  • Required to understand methodology applied to calculate headcount and have previous experience using standard databases and timings.
  • Measure standard time, proactively challenge and support the realisation of reductions in standard time.
  • Constantly strive to eliminate waste. Continually review warehouse layout and infrastructure in order to maximise space utilization.
  • Required to be main point of contact for any change requests from Operations and Kaizen managers.
  • Develop logistic metrics, internal analysis tools, or key performance indicators for business units.
  • Evaluate industry best practice such as inventory tracking technology, Web-based warehousing software, or intelligent conveyor systems to maximize plant efficiency.
  • Work with health and safety teams to ensure designs comply with H&S legislation and company procedures.

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent and 3-7 years of experience in engineering.
  • You have experience in Automotive Industry (especially in aftersales, beneficial would be inbound logistics, CKD and subassembly).
  • Experienced in process planning, industrial engineering, manufacturing, logistic concept planning, RFQ engineering, project management and MHE calculations.
  • Experienced in Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, warehouse design and in the warehouse operation.
  • Ability to communicate and present findings effectively across all levels of the business.
  • Qualified work measurement practitioner. Experience of MTM, UAS or MOST is required.
  • You are business fluent in both German and English language, written and verbal.
  • You have the ability to interpret data and drive solid conclusions from the statistical analysis.
  • Possess strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel, & PowerPoint. Familiarity of AutoCAD would be an advantage.
  • Furthermore, if you have experience in working with a warehouse management system (i.e. SAP), simulation and 3D drawing or REFA timing skill then that would be a plus
