Supervisor, Customs

Our Perris, CA site supports a leading global technology customer with complex, high-volume supply chain operations. We are seeking a Customs Supervisor to support U.S. Customs and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) compliance at the site.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for protecting the organization from regulatory risk while enabling efficient global trade operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support customs and FTZ compliance activities for the Perris site

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. customs regulations and international trade laws

  • Support management of import/export compliance processes, including customs valuation and documentation

  • Support and maintain compliance with Preferential & Free Trade Agreements

  • Ensure adherence to EAR and ITAR regulations

  • Develop, implement, and maintain import/export compliance programs

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and global trade compliance

  • Support trade process optimization while minimizing regulatory risk

  • Provide leadership and guidance to operational teams on compliance matters

What We’re Looking For

  • Expeirence in FTZ, global trade compliance, international logistics, or customs compliance

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Customs processes and customs valuation

    • Import/export compliance

    • Customs regulations and international trade

    • Preferential and Free Trade Agreements

  • Experience with EAR and ITAR regulations

  • Experience developing and implementing import/export compliance programs

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Excellent team collaboration skills, including experience working within complex international matrix organizations

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities

  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining a strategic perspective

  • Experience with ERP systems preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB)

  • Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)

 

About the Role

How you will contribute

  • Manage all daily customs and compliance activities within the region.
  • Supervise and lead the Customs department.
  • Maintain requirements regarding Authorized Economic Operator license and perform internal audits on the applicable customs processes. 
  • Set-up and maintain a quality system for internal and external purposes.
  • Assist, advise and help the Manager, Customs & Trade Affairs and Business Units with all customs and related operational matters 
  • Ensure and maintain that overall compliance with local legislation/regulation is conducted as a policy regarding our clients and within our internal organization.
  • Generate, monitor and regularly check the Monthly periodic declaration and other type of customs declarations submitted to the customs authority.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and make recommendations to support them
  • Lead projects, advise, guides and implement them accordingly.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • College degree required.
  • Experience in a supervisory role within a customs environment.
  • Knowledge of national and local Customs/Tax regulations/legislation (incl. valuation, classification and special trade programs).
  • Strong knowledge of customs procedures/regimes and know how to interpret them.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficient using MS Office applications and experience using computerized customs systems.
  • Experience of reviewing customs compliance and negotiating with customs/tax authorities.

 Pay Range: $74,100 - $111,100
