Logistics Manager

Logistics Manager: Do you have what it takes to lead a team in a highly complex environment? We are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager, based in Palmetto, GA to manage the movement, distribution, and storage of items, ensuring they reach the right place, at the right time, and in the right condition, while minimalizing costs and maximizing efficiency. About the Role
How you will contribute
- Lead and oversee all aspects of development, implementation, standardization, and management of logistics department’s standard work instructions and process flow.
- Maintain Yard Management System (YMS) regarding the placement of all trailers/containers and their contents.
- Interface with customer to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; provides input on local conditions, identifies needs, and receives direction.
- Conduct incident investigations, root-cause analysis, follow-up, and closure of action items, and leverage learning across organization for all trailer/container incidents.
- Work with Operations Personnel to implement and manage detailed, proactive systems to ensure compliance with Federal and State DOT Trucking regulations and Company requirements, with a strong emphasis on a Management Systems approach to compliance.
- Seek industry best practices and more effective and efficient methods to achieve Operational Excellence.
- Enact contingency plans as needed; escalate and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc.; identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escalate issues to local and senior management, and participate in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.
- Review ongoing performance results to targets. Take corrective measures with authorization, escalate as needed.
- Responsible for providing effective leadership to the Warehouse Managers and/or team, enforcing company standards, act as a role model.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Hands-on experience creating, maintaining and improving Transportation adherence/compliance including gap analysis, and site level implementation and adoption.
- Strong leadership and organization, with the ability to direct and achieve priorities, goals, and strategies with limited supervision.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to appropriately target communication to intended audience, ranging from leading Training Presentations for Operations and Management to interactions and meetings with a variety of Agency and Community stakeholders.
- Proficient knowledge of computers and typical production software (e.g., MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Your Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Progressive experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write documents using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and customer.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
