Material Planner

We are looking for a Material Planner, based in Amsterdam to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all planning processes. About the Role

How you will contribute

  • Analyse inventory on hand in the context of customer’s & manufacturer’s build plan
  • Communicate regularly with customer & manufacturer regarding future build plan requirements
  • Liaise with all operational departments as required, to ensure smooth information flow to and from clients
  • Monitor stock performance, ensure stock turn and ageing are within agreed limits – removing static inventory from site
  • To provide support to the inbound planners with the planning of inbound shipments
  • Monitor Scrap and RMA process
  • Inventory issues – monitor and resolve with Inventory
  • Monitor all inbound deliveries with Inbound Planner. Ensure all issues and problem logs are resolved. Involve quality where appropriate
  • Monitor customer’s backlog to ensure manufacturer’s BTS receipts are shipping from the site
  • Ensure that manufacturer’s production, process & productivity targets are not affected by materials availability
  • Ensure redundant inventory is removed from the site to avoid constraints in ASRS
  • Support preparation of routine daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly reports
  • Contribute to the improvement of work instructions and standard operating procedures related to planning
  • Support in order management activities in regards to open issues 
  • Identify process improvement opportunities related to planning activities

Your Key Qualifications​​​​​​​

  • Excellent (university level) communication and relationship building skills in English (spoken, reading, writing). Able to communicate without ambiguity and ensure mutual understanding between stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and work with changing priorities & deadlines 
  • Knowledge/ familiarity of and ability to work with warehouse/logistic systems – experience with JDA is an advantage
  • Logical, analytical thinking, structured and self disciplined
  • PC literate – advanced skill with Microsoft Office and Excel in particular, familiarity with on-line collaboration tools and reporting - experience with BI tools is an advantage
  • Strong team-player
