Purchase Coordinator

About the Role

How you will contribute

  • Utilize computer and computer software system (SAP), set up functions, enter data and process information, including:
  • Create purchase requisitions for all plant requirements as directed by functional head (Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, Operations, Finance, Management)
  • Ensure goods receipts are entered into SAP in a timely manner to assist in supplier performance management
  • Track costs and monitor plant spending by using SAP reports and functions. Work with plant manager and plant accountant to ensure plant budget compliance
  • Monitor purchasing process to assure expenses are reported in the correct time period and act as gatekeeper for purchasing policy and procedure.
  • Work within the framework of purchasing contracts where applicable and where not obtain quotes for good and services.
  • Work with Corporate purchasing on purchasing initiatives.
  • Act as liaison between plant and vendor to resolve grievances, claims and vendor non-compliance issues.
  • Interact with various departments to provide information and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Drive cost savings through continuous improvement. – Savings Tracker (Procurement)
  • Perform administrative activities, including: Support to Procurement Manager
  • Implement purchasing and contract management instruction, policies and procedures.

Your Key Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in relevant field of experience
  • Understanding of procurement business process and procedures
  • Language: English and Slovakian as a minimum – written and verbal, in order to communicate both internally and externally
  • Basic knowledge of accounting, materials and purchasing
  • Computer: MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SAP, MS Project
  • Critical thinking skills, able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches to material problems.  
  • Traits: Proactive, determined, initiative
  • Skills: planning, prioritization, organization, supervision, good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be self- directed and work independently.  Must be able to anticipate future product requirements to meet business needs on time. 
  • This role may involve long working hours and periodic travel.
