Area/Shift Manager

About the Role

How you will contribute

For our new plant opened 2018, we are seeking for an Area Manager to built up our local team. 

  • Responsible for driving Standard Work and Quality processes implemented to ensure a “Right First Time” product to the customer. Ensure that all customers required quality processes are operated in line with specification. Drive a zero tolerance mindset for deviation from the use of quality processes to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
  • Deliver the product to the customer on time, every time using JIT logistics methods. Operate visual delivery tracking systems in order that commodity status can be seen at a glance. Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to support dispatch time windows.
  • Lead follow up to Customer concerns. Identify and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures. Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
  • Manage Manpower resource effectively to support customer delivery requirements and also Lean Manufacturing principles. Drive company Absence Control Procedures to ensure maximum attendance levels. Deal with all personnel issues on shift including interaction with the Trade Union, in line with Company Policy and Collective Agreements.
  • Ensure cost performance is enhanced by reducing operational outlay for consumables. Deliver RTR efficiencies to support Year on Year operational budget reduction.
  • Manage the implementation of engineering changes, production trials, model change and pilot build. Flawless execution every time, using the “New Part” process.
  • Coach Supervisors daily in order that a common goal is focused upon and those business objectives are met consistently.

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or Associates degree
  • min. 3 years of managerial experience at various levels within the logistic industry and/or other manufacturing industries
  • Manufacturing / logistics background in the automotive industry is preferred. Job experience in a Tier 1 operation is beneficial
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Must adjust work schedule as determined by the demands of the business, a certain flexibility is mandatory
  • English skills are mandatory
  • Must be able to communicate to large numbers of employees effectively
  • Must be able to prepare complex presentations and present to leadership and customers
  • Be open, candid and truthful. Never pursue a political agenda but simply explore best solutions. Integrity and respect for individuals are part of a candid culture.
  • Proactively seek solutions and make decisions
