EHS & Compliance Manager

How you will contribute

  • Support all topics around EHS & Compliance for all Tech sites in Germany.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain company environmental as well as health and safety management systems, training programs, and procedures in line with all current legislation.  Perform monthly environmental and health/safety inspections and maintenance.
  • Represent the company at external audits on all environmental, health and safety matters.  Ensure compliance to audit standards and work with auditors and vendors to answer findings and complaints in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
  • Design and develop written environmental, health and safety procedures. Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in respective regulations, laws or reporting requirements. Provide technical environmental, safety and health support and information to all employees.  
  • Responsible for the co-coordination of risk assessment activities including record keeping. Analysis of risk assessment, near miss and accident data to presenting to the senior management team. Develop long term strategies to reduce accidents that are data driven.  
  • Investigate accidents to include gathering all documentation in line with company policies, compiling all documentation relating to any insurance claims made against the company, and liaising with insurance companies, solicitors and other related organizations in pursuit of insurance claims.
  • Cooperation with training department in regard to employee training.
  • Represent the company at any internal EHS & compliance meetings, key contact for customer or supplier in EHS & compliance topics and meetings presenting data, recording actions, and monitoring the progress of those actions.
  • Work with the operational teams to improve the working environment and reduce the impacts to the employee from operational activities as well as recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to work hazards.
  • Assure the compliance of DIN ISO 14001 and 45001 as well as the company compliance requirements.
  • Support of contract reviews in respect to compliance topics in cooperation with legal department.
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety and environmental regulation compliance. This will include property in and around the facility.  Review plans and specifications for development of new machinery, equipment or processes to determine whether all safety requirements have been met.  Manage and support all documentation related to material handling equipment.
  • Support implementation of data protection guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health is preferred with a minimum of certification in the designated country for health, safety, and environment. 
  • 3-5 years of work experience, at least 2 years experience in an EHS role, preferably in a logistics/warehouse or manufacturing environment as well as experience in developing and administering health and safety programs.
  • Training as internal auditor and health & safety management representative, training as environment management representative beneficial.
  • Familiar with country specific environmental, health and safety standards (ISO 14001 and 45001) as well as dangerous goods handling.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, especially in MS Office.
  • Fluent German and English skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, written and oral in order to deal with a wide range of internal and external customers. 
  • You are stress resistant, like to work in teams, like to travel around Germany (around 25%) and you have a strong "hands on" mentality.
