Site Start-Up Engineering Manager

As a Launch Manager, based anywhere, you will play an important role in developing good working relationships with all team members and the customer. You will need to proactively generate, interpret, analyze, and communicate results using management tools, graphs, and reports. Eliminating complexity and integrating a culture of improvement has to be in your DNA. While this role is remote, candidates should live one either Mexico City, Queretaro, Juarez, or Monterrey.

 

 

How you will contribute

- Lead and/or participate in the launch of awarded new business. Ensure all responsibilities of Launch Engineering are completed on time and on budget for assigned launches.
- Understand engineered solution and implement the solution through the launch. Document scope changes and deviations and present findings to internal stakeholders and customers
- Work closely with the sales, operations, quality, procurement, pricing & IT teams to align the internal and external requirements and deliverables
- Ability to alternately work as individual contributor and manage others simultaneously on multiple initiatives and projects.
- Work with solutions team and design Customer specific solutions and Best in Class response to Customer Request for Quotations (RFQs), contract renewals, major operational scope changes, and innovation opportunities.
- Support preparation of the technical submission package to the customer, including PPT decks, simulations, etc. and present the technical solution, as required.
- Work with external partners in the development of automated material handling systems and storage solutions that meet the requirements of solution proposals.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department providing hands-on support as required. Mentors team members and provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Drive continuous process improvement, and collaborate effectively with cross- functional operational and development teams to solve problems and implement new solutions
- Support development of risk mitigation actions and prove out plans to support quality launch.
- Lead/participate lessons learned and implement these in future launches.
- Other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Ability to travel (80%)
- 7-10 years’ experience in engineering and engineering management.
- 5-7 years’ experience in automotive, technology, fulfillment, and e-commerce industry. Knowledge in design and implementation of automation.
- Experience in solution design to customer RFQs including labor standard calculations, material handling equipment (MHE) calculations, space and storage design, and project management of multiple contributing disciplines.
- Experience in warehouse design/operations, slotting, and launch of warehouse operations.
- Experience in utilizing AutoCAD, simulation software, Warehouse Management Systems, and ERP systems.
- Experience in Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma improvement methodologies

- Ability to communicate and present findings effectively across all levels of the business
