Technical Support Specialist - Project Engineer

Do you have experience with project management/solution implementation processes and techniques? Can you educate people, answer questions, and troubleshoot any related problems about technology-based products and services? We are looking for a Technical Support Specialist - Project Engineer, based in Hinckley, who is eager to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task. 

 

About the Role

How you will contribute

  • Management and support of Microsoft SCCM/Windows environment and provide technical support and guidance.
  • Review of desktop vulnerabilities, testing and deployment of patches and software for all endpoint devices, troubleshooting software and application installations.
  • Plan/coordinate deployments to all endpoints enterprise-wide.
  • Creation, deployment and maintenance of OS images through SCCM.
  • Working with application owners on remediation of vulnerable software through SCCM updates.
  • Keeping track of all work assigned and ability to provide daily updates to management.
  • Actively leads one or more Project Management Office (PMO) continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaboration with Desktop Support Team to address/resolve enterprise-wide end user computing issues.
  • Act as an initial escalation point for TSS before issues are escalated to TL's.
  • Launch planning and Launch site support as required with Travel.
  • Act as the lead for joint projects with SE and NE teams.
  • Maintain and manage Standard hardware requirements in consultation with leadership.
  • Generate reports for hardware and software inventories, new or aged vulnerabilities, etc.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Coordinate with internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Experience with project management/solution implementation processes and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
  • Strong problem solving, documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization.
  • Strong with PowerShell and scripting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and detail oriented.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Weekend and night shift flexibility required due to some projects requiring site downtime support.     
  • SCCM management experience required.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years hands on experience managing mid-to-large scale projects.
