Solutions Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Solutions Engineer which can be based from either our Hinckley or Burton locations

About the Role:  

• Use Logistics modelling tools to design warehouse, transportation, network, and supply chain solutions for customer proposals and existing operations
• Create 3d views of processes and buildings within SKETCHUP and AUTOCAD

• Develop supply chain solutions in response to new business RFQs in line with current operational assumptions, methodologies and desired financial ROIs
• Ability to perform engineering analysis, including using quantitative analysis methodologies, to support the business development process
• Assist in the development and enhancement of standardized engineering tools and methods.
• Provide Engineering support for distribution centre activities, including working directly with the internal and external customer group on inventory controls, facility layout, facility flow, process flow and related data analysis.
• Use operational experience, together with IT knowledge and advanced data analysis skills to assist the business in measuring and improving current systems and processes.
• Support the development and production of detailed layout and drawing elements to inform process owners of layout and flow, together with rendered outputs for client presentations
• Perform special research or technical studies critical to logistic support functions. Utilize computer techniques for analysis, simulation or information systems and documentation.

Requirements

• BS in Industrial/Production/Logistics/Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred
• Strong operational logistics experience required
• Must possess excellent communication skills and computer skills including advanced EXCEL
• Strong writing skills with experience documenting design methodologies to create logistics solutions and responses to RFPs preferred.
• Exceptional analytical skills and ability to pay attention to detail
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations to managers and executives.
• Aptitude to learn and use Software packages including but not limited to: SketchUp, AutoCad, PowerBI, Qlik.
• Travel is required across sites so a driving licence is essential for this vacancy
