Reverse and Repair, Director

About the Role

How you will contribute 
Service Line Management

  • Act as steward for the Reverse & Repair service line.  Own the service ‘roadmap’ of capabilities that support growing the size of the Reverse & Repair business.
  • Drive customer and market requirements into Engineering and Operations to achieve enhanced capabilities that garner new customers and further penetrate existing customers.
  • Stay current on market evolution in terms of both competitive offerings and customer trends and requirements.
  • Liasion with Sales team to craft strategies to win new business and help close deals.

Process Engineering and Continuous Improvement

  • Responsible for global Process Engineering duties to deliver best in class performance for our customers.  Working with the local engineering teams to design, improve and standardize our processes.
  • You will help drive continuous improvement in the facilities and investigate performance deviations and variation.
  • Process balancing activities such as identifying constraints, TAKT time analysis and other Lean activities.  
  • Work with the customer’s engineering staff to improve production and develop solutions that contribute to a partnership.
  • Improve quality performance across the sites globally.
  • Drive toward becoming the go to expert for your area of expertise. In performance, engineering, pricing and costing.
  • Work with regional leads to present Operational, Technical, and Analytical information in customer and internal workshops as required.
  • Help lead the effort across all disciplines to align the internal and external requirements and deliverables to design, calculate, document, price, respond, present, review and plan the implementation of the customer solutions.

New Business Solutions

  • Lead solution proposal development and pricing for new SKU introductions and transfer SKUs from other sites.
  • Partner with Solutions Engineering Lead on mid-sized and large RFQs for new business.  Support engineering design and coordinate site engineering resources on the solution proposal.
  • Work cross-functionally to help drive, standardize, and where possible, ‘automate’ the RFQ response process so that full concentration can be given to designing Optimal Customer solutions and processes.
  • Prioritize the workload for the supporting Engineering and IT SMEs to determine solution and lead-time feasibility, work closely with the Bid Managers and Solution Engineering lead to provide monthly workload visibility.

Your Key Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Emphasis on pricing, R&D, and Design
  • Ability to interface with client at the executive level as well engineering level
  • Experience in engineering and engineering management
  • Experience within the Reverse and Repair or Electronics Contract Manufacturing logistics industry
  • Experience in process planning, manufacturing, logistic concept planning, RFQ engineering, project management and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) calculations.
  • Experience in Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, warehouse design/operations.
  • Experience in utilizing MS Excel, & PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Warehouse Management Systems, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to communicate and present findings effectively across all levels of the business.
  • Bilingual is a must
  • Able to engage sites across the globe to drive results.
