Account Manager Automotive

Within Europe, we have operations in a wide range of countries, including France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Turkey and the UK. For our Logistics Commercial Europe team, we are now looking for an Account Manager Automotive to be based primarily in Germany (remote is possible).and reporting to the Account Director Automotive.

 

In this exciting role, you will focus on developing the business of the assigned key customer in alignment with the overall strategy and satisfaction of this key customer. You will be responsible for meeting and exceeding all budgeted sales goals while keeping track of the approved selling expense budget, as well as commercially managing the existing book of business for their nominated accounts and ensure all renewals are successful.


The Account Manager Automotive is a crucial partner to maintain customer relationships, align customer requirements and expectations, and safeguarding a healthy book-of-business in the specific region.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the development and continuously updating of the customer global account plan, in order to fit its purpose as an account management tool, ensuring the integrity of the plan against customer needs to enable strategic planning via executive reviews;
• Establishing productive and professional relationships with key personnel within the customers and other representatives;
• Understanding the customer's business (strategically, operationally and financially);
• Understanding the customer's buying process and identify all influences, intimately understanding their requirements;
• Coordinating all growth initiatives specific to the global customer business, identifying and growing opportunities to the assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives of the account;
• Ensuring solution development, pricing & negotiation efforts that best address customer needs, coordinating the involvement of Regional Account Management, Center of Excellence and key internal stakeholders;
• Coordinating and take the ownership for RFQs for new business opportunities and renewals of existing business with assigned accounts engaging other functions as required and own the commercial relationship and contract negotiations with customer;

• Tracking key account metrics and alert internal stakeholders of any performance or cost to serve requirements, ensuring action plans are initiated and acted on to resolution;
• Maintaining an up-to-date pipeline of current and future opportunities, quantifying number of opportunities, value of the opportunity and managing the probability to win;
• Assisting with high severity requests or issue escalations as needed;
• Coordinating the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers' expectations;
• Planing, scheduling and facilitating Quarterly Business Reviews with assigned accounts and maintain an up-to-date pipeline of current and future opportunities.


Your Background:
• Degree in Business Administration, Business Development, Logistics or equivalent;
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience within the Transportation, Logistics and/or Freight Forwarding industry with focus on the automotive industry vertical;
• Significant commercial/sales experience within Automotive OEMs and a proven track record of having consistently achieved on sales quota at relevant scales;
• Familiarity with exposure to and working knowledge of all facets of contractual requirements;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a high degree of personal and professional integrity;

• Result-driven and strong collaborative abilities to build good relationships with customers and other internal and external stakeholders;
• Fluent/professional working proficiency in the German & English language, any other European language proficiency is a plus;
• Based & authorized to work in Germany with the ability to travel between 30-50% of your time to customers and our sites in the assigned region.
