Software Developer

We are looking for a team-oriented Software Developer, based in Dublin (IE), with a can-do attitude to work on diverse and exciting new innovative global projects. Responsibilities you will have in the role are to undertake the full development lifecycle of a global FileMaker Pro application and to produce high-quality software solutions within time and budget.

About the Role

How you will contribute

  • Administration, development, maintenance, documentation, and troubleshooting of a complex FileMaker Pro database
  • Support and maintain existing FileMaker applications utilizing required tools and technologies
  • Training new staff on use of the database, and providing ongoing application support to end users
  • Communicate issues clearly while working toward a deadline
  • Work independently or with a group of developers
  • Training and walkthrough of solutions with PM or support staff
  • Able to follow and understand provided business documentation and determine how it relates to the software
  • Be inquisitive, rigorous, enthusiastic, ready to learn and willing to work in a team environment with specific assignments, yet be able to self-motivate and self-direct
  • Strive to continuously improve the software delivery processes and practices
  • Capable of problem identification, analysis and resolution
  • Create technical system documentation and ensure that this documentation remains current throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). 
  • Open to learning other technologies as determined by the direction/vision of the company

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of File Maker programming experience is required
  • Good understanding of programming logic
  • Knowledge of Relational database concepts and structures is required
  • Understanding of multiple computer platforms
  • Degree or diploma in Software is a plus
  • Reverse logistics / Manufacturing background a plus
  • Warehouse Management Systems experience a plus
  • SQL, PHP, XML, Java, HTML experience is a plus but not required

 

This role is best suited for a creative and positive developer who can transform requirements into responsive, high-performing solutions.

The ideal person for this role must work well within a team, have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and be agile in a demanding environment.
