About the Role

How you will contribute

  • Leading the operational area in cooperation with the Shift Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders
  • Ensure order control and quality whilst meeting costs and KPIs
  • Implementing and enforcing all processes in the operations area, as well as monitoring compliance and adjusting when changes are needed
  • Responsible for the implementation and achievement of agreed targets in the operational area. Monitoring targets, setting and following up on actions in case of non-achievement of the set KPIs
  • You will manage the development, monitoring and adherence to quality and productivity metrics on site alongside the QEHS Manager
  • You will ensure continuous optimisation of warehouse operations (Kaizen)
  • You will provide disciplinary and technical leadership to the warehouse staff at the site
  • You comply with the cleanliness and safety guidelines (5S)
  • You ensure compliance with all statutory social regulations, occupational health and safety regulations and standards and ensure the promotion of accident prevention measures
  • You are the key contact person for all customer-specific issues related to operations.

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • You ideally bring a completed training as an Operations Manager or higher education relating to logistics
  • You have several years of professional experience, ideally in a comparable position in the logistics industry, including management experience 
  • You are confident with Warehouse Management Systems, SAP and MS-Office
  • You will have a good command of written and spoken English
  • You are a team player, have strong communication skills, are reliable and stress-resistant, you also enjoy working independently and are characterised by goal-oriented, proactive work with a high level of commitment
  • You will have a high willingness to learn and perform
  • You enjoy working in a varied and exciting work environment for a global customer in shifts
  • Experience in start up operations is desirable

Being just 1.5 Miles from Burton Town Centre and 1.5 Miles from the A38 our new operational warehouse is easily accessible from Burton, Stapenhill, Branston, Winshill, Horninglow and Shobnall. It is also regularly served by the local bus service – Number 1,6,9,10,401,402 and 403 all stop within a 15 minute walk from our new operation.
