Site Manager

Do you have what it takes to successfully lead a team in a highly complex Logistics environment? 

 

syncreon, a DP World Company, is a global third-party logistics provider and we are excited to announce the opening of a brand-new fulfilment centre at Symmetry Park, Bicester, for a new Customer, the leading distributor for the UK Entertainment Industry.

 

We are looking for a Site Manager to help us launch and lead this exciting new piece of business. The successful candidate will play an integral part in business operations, drive a culture of continuous improvement and ensure efficient optimisation of operational processes whilst meeting customer demand. If you are an experienced natural leader with customer satisfaction and business results in your DNA, then this is the job for you! 

 

How you will contribute 

 

  • Customer Performance
    • Responsibility for all fulfilment centre operations
    • Achieve all operational KPI targets
    • Develop, maintain and own close professional relationship with Customer
    • Work collaboratively with Customer in respect of future demand planning
    • Drive and deliver initiatives that support a continuous improvement & lean management culture

 

  • Financial Performance
    • Full site P&L responsibility
    • Budget setting and periodic schedule of review in partnership with site financial controller
    • Drive and deliver initiatives to improve operational efficiency and business results
    • Exception management of unexpected, unplanned or out of scope costs
    • Collaboration with internal teams in respect of closing commercial tasks and business renewals

 

  • Organisational Strength
    • Lead and strengthen an established team to meet existing and future Customer demand
    • Mentor and coach identified talent
    • Proactively encourage and focus team to operate at pace on business-critical activities
    • Maintain and drive succession planning principles
    • Strong employee relations & engagement activities
    • Clear and thorough communication across all organisational levels
    • Maintain close collaborative relationship with the Trade Union

 

  • New Business/Growth
    • Fulfil leading role in respect of Customer driven scope changes and new opportunities
    • Identify new opportunities to pursue within scope of existing site operations
    • Collaboration with all stakeholders to maintain competitive approach
    • Key support role for onboarding/launching of new business

 

  • General
    • Responsible for all facility related activities
    • Engagement with other internal Teams in region to ensure alignment on change requests, Customer events and other relevant internal or Customer driven activities
    • Meet all Company objectives in respect of Safety, Quality, Security, Customs, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, Corporate Responsibility, Employee Morale and The Environment
    • Occasional requirement for regional and international travel

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • Credibility, with a strong desire to deliver organisational goals
  • Proven successful experience in third party logistics at Senior Management level
  • Strong leadership qualities and team development skills
  • Experience of managing Trade Union relationships
  • Understanding of financials/interpreting a P&L
