Senior HR Advisor

syncreon, a DP World Company, are a global 3rd party logistics partner and have recently opened a brand new facility, on Symmetry Park, Bicester, servicing our Customer, who are a Financial Technology Company focussed on developing digital solutions for the music industry. Due to this new site we are now recruiting for an Senior HR Advisor to lead on all aspects of human resource management in a stand alone capacity.

 

About the Role

This is a new role and will report to the Head of HR – UK South.  As the site HR lead, responsible for circa 150 employees we are looking for someone to join our team to provide high quality and commercial HR partnering to the site leadership team. You will ensure successful delivery of strategic people outcomes as well as providing coaching, support and challenge to managers on all parts of the employee lifecycle including employee relations issues, talent and succession, learning and development, organisation design and reward and employee engagement.

 

How you will contribute

  • Be responsible for maintaining; recruitment, onboarding, retention, absence/welfare management, performance management, training and development, HR Policies and Procedures, HR management reporting and analysis, including the associated administration, whilst ensuring legal compliance.
  • Coach and support managers on leadership and cultural change through stakeholder relationships to enable business and functional goals and objectives to be achieved.
  • Support the operational and functional management team on all ER issues promoting proactive approaches.
  • Provide HR support in a number of areas including TUPE, employee development & career plans, employee engagement, recruitment, reward & recognition, workforce planning and performance management.
  • Make decisions that fit with Our Principles from both a legal, process, procedural and policy perspective
  • Coach and advise managers to ensure contract delivery objectives are met through performance of our people
  • Develop and maintain trusting and effective partnerships with all onsite managers, challenging their thinking and working closely with them to co-develop solutions to meet their current and future business needs
  • Use business and people related metrics to support the business to make informed and business lead decisions.
  • Diagnose and analyse people issues, providing objective challenge and engaging the appropriate methods to ensure resolution
  • Develop and maintain positive relations with the Trade Union and engage with them, as required.
  • We strive for continuous improvement, so you will have the opportunity and autonomy to propose and implement new ‘value add’ initiatives for your sites and share ‘best practice’ with our HR teams at other UK locations within the DP World group
  • You will need to be visible and approachable for all team members and management whilst, at all times, seeking to enhance the quality of the service HR can provide
  • You need to be passionate about HR, highly efficient and effective and be able to act on a tactical and strategic level, with planning, which consider immediate and long-term requirements for your areas of responsibility
  • There may be some travel in the UK and occasionally in EMEA
  • Work on HR projects for the wider business as required.

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a HR role, preferably in a logistics, manufacturing or related field
  • Studying CIPD or reached a suitable qualification level
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence others in a positive and constructive manner
  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues and counsel managers on complex HR issues
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with line managers, team members, our customers and trade union representatives
  • Additional education, training and/or work experience in area of specialisation inherent to the position may be required
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office products and HRIS systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of UK employment legislation
