  Duties:

Responsible for winning new business by supporting the identification and costing of effective and timely warehousing and distribution solutions for the industry, including Technology, Automotive, Retail, FMCG, E-commerce, Cold Chain, Chemical, and Industrial verticals; lead the design of supply chain solutions from large scale (geographical optimization) down to small scale (design of processes and lines/stations) as part of the RFQ process; lead in the development of concepts for use in formal customer proposals, including process flow diagrams, KPIs and facility layouts in complex cases with support of Engineering team, automation practice and simulation outputs; provide leadership for Junior Engineers on projects and delegate workload in conjunction with Team Lead; work closely with Business Development/Account Management, Launch, and Operational teams as part of the solution development process along with key departments, such as Procurement, HR, IT and Security; lead the presenting of technical solutions to customers through proposals, conference calls and presentations in conjunction with account management and the RFQ support groups; develop sold RFQ concepts into fully detailed designs post-award as part of the launch process; deputize for Team Lead and provide guidance to Junior Engineers within the department; utilize capacity planning, AutoCAD, Pareto charts, DMAIC, 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, CATIA, SolidWorks, VBA, SQL, and Tableau to perform duties; lead the delivery of the engineering elements of new business launch, including the creation of master data, process validation, infrastructure works, onboarding of plant teams and onsite contractor management; act as interface between regional function and all other areas of the business; ensure engineering function is aligned with operations team and other support functions during RFQ and launch phase; contribute to the development and implementation of regional and global initiatives; collaborate and support solution design and best practice adoption or communication across regional and global Engineering teams; complete new MTM process assessments or update existing processes; ensure clear and quantifiable data is available to show contribution to business made by individuals and function as a whole; act as a troubleshooter when required; identify pinch points or problem areas, ensuring root cause analysis is completed where appropriate and corrective measures are implemented into operations; and support the development of plant-based engineering teams and embed regional standards within sites.

 

Location: Auburn Hills, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;

 

Salary: $118,000 per year;

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education: Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

 

Experience: One (1) year in the position above, as an Industrial Engineer, as a Mechanical Engineer, or in a related occupation;

 

Other Requirements: Experience must include one (1) year’s use of all the following: capacity planning, AutoCAD, Pareto charts, DMAIC, 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, CATIA, SolidWorks, VBA, SQL, and Tableau.

 

Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
