Purchasing Specialist - Associate

We need you to improve our business as a Purchasing Specialist. This position requires a candidate who is intelligent, adaptable and possesses specific skills that will enable them to acclimate with syncreon’s growing environment.

About the Role

How you will contribute

  • Train and continue to support Purchasing Coordinators / Lead Requisitioners on all purchasing processes and procedures.
  • Train and continue to support Purchasing Coordinators / Lead Requisitioners on SAP with regards to all required transactions and reports.
  • Maintain SAP training documents for purchasing.
  • Perform purchasing audits at plants to insure coordinators and Lead Requisitioners are following all processes and procedures.
  • Travel to new business launch sites, set up and maintain purchasing processes/functions until permanent position is filled, trained and functioning.
  • Travel to sites in transition and/or in concern status with regards to a purchasing related issue and/or the purchasing processes and resolve/stabilize.
  • Work on National Corporate Contract initiatives and large RFQ initiatives at plant level.
  • Review and execute contracts, leases and agreements in cooperation with legal department.
  • Lead all Purchasing Coordinators and Lead Requisitioners in Monthly Best Practices meeting, maintaining meeting minutes and attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, materials or related major preferred.
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes, researching vendors and service providers.
  • Strong Negotiation skills to reach best price and conditions.
  • Knowledge and experience with the SAP business data base.
  • Knowledge of business processes and accounting practices.
  • Ability to train and instruct other purchasing professionals.
