Operations Account Manager

We’re looking for a world-class Account Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of engaging with top global automotive clients, enhancing service delivery, and expanding our 3PL/logistics business. The role is based in Auburn Hills, MI. 

About the Role

How you will contribute

  • Cares for existing customers and builds the highest level of trust and relationships within the assigned customer and supports negotiation during the bidding phase by getting a full understanding of appropriate cost level and competition
  • Support quotation processes and RFQ presentations for the new opportunities created according to customer specifications.
  • Understands contract specs/requirements and follows guidelines as indicated by the customer interface.
  • Supports preparation of pricing, cost estimates, scope changes, and all other commercial related documents as part of the RFQ response package together with the Business Development Manager.
  • Supports negotiation during the bidding phase by getting a full understanding of appropriate cost level and competition and defends pricing to the customer and internal staff
  • Fully understands the development, administration, and technical aspects of the companies finance program within the Business Development department
  • Understands market needs and explores opportunities over and above currents service portfolio
  • Builds trust level and relationship throughout the purchasing and technical departments of the customers
  • Builds trust level and relationship throughout internal support groups as in Operations, Finance, Engineering, HR, Legal, etc.
  • Prepares customer presentations and supports the Business Development team in presentations and identifies scope changes and works actively to resolve commercial customer requests.
  • Communicates opportunities, high-level feasibility studies, and RFQ calculations to the appropriate Managers/Directors

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • Technical or commercial related credentials from a University or College or work-related equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Account Management including the use of pricing templates, cost databases, and other supporting tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of the automotive industry, services and products in the automotive sector, market-specific requirements & procedures, and a high sense of urgency
  • A good understanding of production and logistics channel processes and their costs
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with both orally and written communications proficiency.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
