Manager, Travel - Americas

Join our team as a Travel Manager in Auburn Hills, MI, and lead the optimization of our Regional Travel program across North and South America. Take charge of budget management, supplier relationships, and travel policy enforcement, driving cost efficiency and exceptional service while shaping the future of travel processes.

 

About The Role

  • To take responsibility for the annual travel budget in so far as the role can control or influence spending behavior. This includes driving best practice travel behavior, travel pricing, and influencing usage as far as possible.
  • To take responsibility for all travel reporting, on all levels and in all regions. This includes managing suppliers, and bringing to Management attention any relevant trends, individual, regional and by supplier.
  • Assist all syncreon travelers in day to day travel requirements, as required.
  • Takes responsibility for travel in all syncreon regions, including N AMR and S AMR.
  • To gain the best service for the best price from all travel providers globally.
  • To take responsibility for constantly reducing or minimizing travel costs globally. This will include personal cost reduction targets.
  • To enforce the syncreon Travel Policy via our travel booking platform.
  • To take responsibility for the entire ‘process’ of managing syncreon travel, including managing the existing processes, but also actively looking forward and updating and improving the process.
  • Supplier Management (Air, Car Hire, Hotels) including Order Book Management, Order Progression and Supplier Performance Review and any contractual relationship.
  • Ensure compliance with all Legislative requirements for products within the category
  • Individual adhoc negotiations for special event
  • Responsibility for checking of adherence to expense note policy
  • Provide procurement support for other Regional Indirect Purchasing categories (e.g.  Information Technology, Professional Services) as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ Years of travel management experience
  • Bachelors degree in business or related field
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills including  contracts and agreements
  • Experience implementing travel programs across North and South America
  • Ability to communicate and influence at Sr. levels of the organization
  • Deep understanding of travel systems and platforms
  • Demonstrated history of cost control
