Position: Director of Business Process Improvement Americas (Job Code: 8700)

 

Duties: Responsible for championing the Business Process Improvement (BPI) program and associated objectives
for relevant sites and operations, including benefits tracking, ensuring the BPI teams are focused on projects
of greatest opportunity, helping to initiate projects to manage increased business volumes, and streamline
current processes to gain maximum efficiency while ensuring high productivity and customer satisfaction
are met; coach and mentor Green Belts in the application of BPI Six Sigma tools and techniques for the
successful delivery of BPI projects across the region; ensure effective use of tools and conformance to Six
Sigma project processes amongst the BPI trained community, including the development of appropriate
metrics to ensure improvement sustainability; build relationships with Project Champions within the region;
work with the Champions to identify potential new BPI projects to contribute towards the profitability of the
site and BPI annual savings target; work with all functions, including IT, Engineering, and Operations, to
develop and manage the improvement project pipeline and associated priorities; ensure appropriate
resourcing for agreed upon priority projects; utilize business process improvement, project management,
risk management, design reviews, budgeting, variance reporting, MS Project, MS Visio, and AutoCAD to
perform duties; lead larger strategic/customer initiative projects directly, if required; manage the activities
of dedicated site-based BPI Project Managers; manage the activities of assigned trained Green Belt persons
for the lifecycle of their projects; conduct phase gate reviews with team to ensure conformance of BPI
projects; manage the measurement of financial benefit delivery to ensure BPI projects contribute to the
overall financial targets for the BPI program; provide thought leadership in the development of new tools
and techniques for BPI Six Sigma application; ensure effective knowledge transfer to Green Belts to
maximize potential for the success of the sustained process improvement; drive the effective use of project
tracking to capture, measure and monitor status, benefits, and issues of BPI projects; and develop
appropriate reports within appropriate systems.

 

Location: Auburn Hills, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;

 

Salary: $164,528 per year;

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology,
Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

 

Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as a BPI Manager, as a Project Manager, as a Regional
Engineer, or in a related occupation;

Will accept four (4) years in the position above, as a BPI Manager, as a Project Manager, as a Regional
Engineer, or in a related occupation in lieu of the primary education and experience requirements;

 

Other Requirements: Experience must include one (1) years’ use of all the following: business process
improvement, project management, risk management, design reviews, budgeting, variance reporting,
MS Project, MS Visio, and AutoCAD.

Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
