Director - Human Resources

Position: Director - Human Resources (Job Code: 1005)

 

  • Responsible for partnering with the Regional Managers and Leadership teams to ensure a complete understanding of the organizational, staffing and headcount needs and objectives;
  • Lead HR programs and initiatives for multiple sites within the assigned Region;
  • Answer routine inquiries and perform public contact duties involving the collection, verification, and dissemination of human resources information on various topics including testing, records, wages, procedures on absences, hiring procedures, and company policies and procedures;
  • Review applications and interview applicants for various roles;
  • Assist with job recruitment, job orientation sessions, and applicant testing as needed;
  • Gather information for and prepare reports; utilize labor relations activities, contract negotiations, ISO standards, candidate interviewing/hiring processes, workforce planning, succession planning, WSIB management, community outreach initiatives, Microsoft Office Suite, employee performance management and payroll/compensation management to perform duties;
  • Compose and distribute communications and letters that require knowledge of established departmental procedures;
  • Develop, maintain, analyze and assist with various human resources activities and procedures including workforce planning, succession planning, safety oversight, WSIB management, attendance management, turnover management, community outreach initiatives, legislation compliance, performance management, and annual compensation management;
  • Prepare, process, and assist payroll and payroll related records as needed;
  • Respond to Union and Governmental formal complaints; and negotiate and play an active role in Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Long Description

Location: Auburn Hills, Michigan and multiple undetermined worksites throughout the US;

 

Salary: $129,600 per year

 

Education: Bachelors Degree - Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Labor Relations, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

 

Training: None

 

Experience: Three (3) years in the position above, as a Human Resources Manager, as an Employee Relations Specialist, as an Executive Personnel Director, as an Employment Manager, as a Personnel Director, or in a related occupation.

 

Will accept five (5) years in the position above, as a Human Resource Manager, as an Employee Relations Specialist, as an Executive Personnel Director, as an Employment Manager, as a Personnel Director, or in a related occupation, in lieu of the primary education and work experience job requirements.

 

Other Requirements: Experience must include three (3) years use of all the following: labor relations activities, contract negotiations, ISO standards, candidate interviewing/hiring processes, workforce planning, succession planning, WSIB management, community outreach initiatives, Microsoft Office Suite, employee performance management and payroll/compensation management.

 

Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
