BPI Solutions Engineer

As BPI Solutions Engineer, based in Auburn Hills, you will play an important role in utilizing the company standards for developing process maps and value stream maps. You will develop plant layouts and improve existing layouts using AutoCAD to maximize efficient use of space, equipment, and labor. About the Role

How you will contribute

  • Utilize company lean standards in everyday assignments and analysis including: line balance, PFEP, value stream maps, engineering studies, and resource requirement sheets;
  • Provide input for the development of Process FMEA’s and control plans for existing and potential work systems;
  • Developing process maps and value stream maps;

  • Establish and implement work standards through time studies and other accepted methods;

  • Develop plant layouts and improve existing layouts using AutoCAD to maximize efficient use of space, equipment, and labor;

  • Support the application of lean principles and apply lean tools, including value steam maps, 5S visual factory, Kaizan, JIT Delivery, labor/line balancing, capacity studies, time & motion studies, total productive maintenance, process design, and material flow engineering;

  • Utilize Six Sigma methodology and DMAIC principles for problem solving and delivering results (cost reductions, efficiency improvement and operational excellence);

  • Data mining for statistical and graphical depiction of the data with written interpretation and recommendations from the information;

  • Experience with dashboard tools (iDashboard, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)Drive the effective use of project tracking to capture, measure, and monitor status, benefits, and issues of continuous improvement projects.

 

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline is required;
  • 2-5 years of related experience;
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) and experience working with a variety of LEAN tools and concepts;
  • Strong technical skills and experience using AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Access);
  • Must have a proven background in database technologies including Oracle or SQL Server, SQL*Plus and PL/SQL, MS Access;
  • Experience of core WMS capabilities and requirements (similar to Manhattan, JDA, Red Prairie, Softeon, Sphere, etc.);
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels within the organization, customers, and suppliers;
  • Understanding business strategy & relationship to IT;
  • Ability to travel up to 75% with high level of flexibility.
