JDA Application Engineer

For our Technology division in Amsterdam we are looking for an Application Engineer who can support and drive our rapidly changing and fast paced Supply Chain Operations facilitating an Industry 4.0 manufacturing and fulfilment plant. Someone with a hands-on approach and tactical mindset, participating in a local/global team mastering the operational supply chain elements while optimizing efficiency and automating to scale.

Tasks and responsibilities


In this position, you will



  • Work closely with the development team, conduct Root cause Analysis, lead projects, be the Super User for Blue Yonder system (JDA) and possess strong floor knowledge on our warehouse operations.
  • Be the subject matter expert in analyzing change requests, debugging application, planning, coordinating and executing tests for BlueYonder (JDA) application.
  • Work with warehouse users to coordinate & execute tests during JDA WMS implementation and support the operational production environment at all times (especially during your allocated shift).
  • Execute or support the execution of system triggered activities such as adding and configuring fixed pick locations & printers, adding pack stations, mapping pack stations to printers, modifying label templates, fixed pick location assignments etc.
  • Create scripts and stored procedures in relational databases such as Oracle/MS SQL Databases
  • Create Test plans, Test cases,  and execute Unit testing, System testing, Integration testing and Functional testing to support iterative (scrum) release cycles.
  • Perform post implementation evaluations, identify, mitigate, report and monitor risks of new feature requests and release deployments.
  • Proactively lead resolution of high priority operational issues, by chairing discussions with global, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Evaluate ROI and create business requirements document (BRD) for new feature development after gathering feedback from operations, inventory, and supporting teams; convert business requirements to technical specifications & capture change requests in our ticketing system or as a functional design document.
  • Responsible for creating new mapping and modify the existing mappings of system vs floor locations
  • Design and create custom reports using MOCA commands to monitor and track accurate inventory levels
  • Support the application development team on report generation, label creation, configuring of printers and scanners, build/deploy rollouts, archiving/purging configuration etc.
  • Play an active role as a test engineer within the scrum team of the application development team.
  • Design a training strategy to achieve the goal of monitoring and maintaining high level functional JDA knowledge within the operations team (end-users). Conduct training sessions to buddy trainers and evaluate attendees on their understanding.




Qualifications and skills


  • Software Engineering or IT education attained through a graduate degree from a reputed University
  • 4 to 6 years of IT or software engineering experience in Design, Development, Implementation, support of JDA WMS and Java application. Extensive experience of over 3 years in JDA system.
  • Good understanding, knowledge and experience to excel in performing the responsibilities mentioned in the above section
  • Solid knowledge on the complete warehouse engineering processes like picking, storing, allocation and shipping.
  • Technical Skills in Oracle, Microsoft SQL database knowledge (creating scripts and store procedures) Windows/Unix OS experience, Good to advanced JDA knowledge including RF device configuration & system maintenance, use of Eclipse tools
  • Experienced on working with MOCA and/or Groovy developments with excellent programming skills in JAVA, MOCA, Java Scripting.
  • Exposure to JDA Dispatcher, Report Writer, Data Driven Applications (DDA), JDA integrators, will be an advantage
  • Experienced in creating scheduled jobs for Archiving and Purging transactional data.
  • Strong technical background with MOCA development as well as tracing/debugging issues.
  • Proven track record in Production Support issue resolution and Enhancement deployments.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to resolve complex problems with limited guidance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, manage customer & end-user expectations, with a unique capability to work independently while maintaining team synergy
  • Able to demonstrate excellent presentation and organizational skills.
  • Clear willingness and ability to take on and successfully resolve more complex issues in a timely manner.
  • Experience in team leading capabilities is an advantage when it becomes necessary to stand-in for the department lead.
  • Good communication skills (English fluent spoken and written essential), able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from operations to senior management.
  • Excellent Excel & Word skills (experience with G-sheet preferred)
  • Flexible (working in shifts & in accommodating different viewpoints)
  • Stress resistant and experience working in an international work environment.
