HR Advisor

For 2 of our operations sites in the Amsterdam area (Hoofddorp and Schiphol), we are now looking for a motivated HR Advisor to take the next step in their HR career and join our team! The HR Advisor is an exciting, independent and hands-on role opportunity in which you will service as the first point of contact for all operational HR matters for the 2 locations. You will also cooperate with other HR colleagues in the Netherlands (i.e. Tilburg and Waalwijk) on a regular basis and will be supported by the HR Shared Service Center with regards to HR administrative processes and management of employee files. Additionally, you will focus on business partnership with the site management, developing new capabilities, absenteeism management and leadership coaching. The HR Advisor is based onsite and will report to the HR Lead for the Netherlands. 

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all site-related HR matters and responsibilities: 
- Local compliance including labor and employee relations;
- Standardizing and implementing policies and practices;
- Local pay management working with the responsible payroll team;
- Work councils and/or union relationships;
- Site workforce planning;
- Overseeing and managing the talent strategy for the site while partnering with the respective HR Centers of Excellence;
- Driving synergies across the sites in cooperation with the Cluster HR Leader.

 

Other Key Responsibilities:
• Working with the HR Shared Services Management to ensure that shared services are implemented and employee files, documentation and transactional activities are centralized;
• Aligning with the Cluster HR Leader and Legal on communication and cooperation with works councils within the responsible area;
• Partnering with the Centers of Excellence, HR Business Partners for the verticals and business leaders to enable the delivery of structural HR practices: workforce planning, succession planning, safety oversight, turnover management, community outreach initiatives, performance management, and annual compensation management;
• Acting as a change champion and - in cooperation with the site management - ensuring a successful roll-out of the DP World culture and policies on the sites;
• Promoting the internal appreciation for the HR value of strategic business imperatives and responsible for delivering site related HR metrics and projects.

 

Your Background

- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent;

- 3-5 years of experience in a similar and independent HR Advisor or Generalist position;

- Good knowledge of and experience in Dutch labor law and employment regulations as well as experience in labor relations and working with works councils;

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish effective working relationships and influence stakeholders within all departments and levels of the organization;

- Affinity with recruiting, retaining & developing talent, and change management experience are strongly preferred;

- Fluent proficiency in both Dutch and English language (verbally and in writing) is required;

- Good IT skills affinity with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as HR information systems;

- Based and authorized to work in the Netherlands with the ability to work on-site in the Amsterdam area, possession of a driver's license and car is strongly desired.
