Regional QEHS Lead (Logistics) for UK/Benelux and Ireland

The Regional QEHS Lead (UK/IRL/Benelux) reports into the Regional QEHS Europe CL & Freight  Regional QEHS Leader (Logistics) and support team. The main purpose of the role is to cascade and execute DP World HSE (from Group HSE) and Quality standards and to ensure customer/region specific Quality and HSE requirements/regulations are implemented at the sites within their region. 

 

Job Purpose 
The Regional QEHS Lead  (Logistics) reports into the Regional QEHS Europe CL & Freight  QEHS director  (Logistics) and support regional QEHS team.  The main purpose of the role is to cascade and execute DP World HSE (from Group HSE) and Quality standards and to ensure customer/region specific Quality and HSE requirements/regulations are implemented at the sites within their region.


This role will promote the best-in-class safety culture as defined by the Regional QEHS Europe CL & Freight  Regional QEHS Director (Logistics) in line with the DP World GHSE strategy for safety and sustainability and the best-in-class Quality Management system that will ensure their sub-region's legal compliance/certification requirements are met. This role will also ensure execution of action in line with Global Site Assessment (GSA) criteria to enable performance in meeting/exceeding customer specific QEHS requirements in their region. The Regional QEHS lead will manage the sites in their area of responsibility to deliver the DP World standards and customer requirements for QEHS in a proactive manner across the region. In large regions, this position will lead sub teams to ensure compliance with all stakeholder requirements.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Cascade and execute DP World HSE (from Group HSE) and Quality Strategic plans, policies and processes at their sites of responsibility through both compliance and GSA/process auditing.
  • Promote the DP World safe together programme and strive for best-in-class Safety operations and meet/ exceed customer Quality and EHS requirements at their sites of responsibility
  • Provide QEHS support and ensure execution to existing operations, as well as new launches in their area.
  • Establish and deploy QEHS standards at their sites of responsibility in partnership with QEHS shared services, including processes and controls that result in achieving the business Key Results in areas such as quality, safety, environmental, training, business continuity, reduction of costs from nonconformance, waste reduction, and on-time delivery. 
  • Develop, mentor and manage the site QEHS teams, including carrying out needed operations strategies, improving customer satisfaction and achieving business Key Results at their sites of responsibility.
  • Work proactively on problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationship at their sites of responsibility.
  • Maintain and continually improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) for QEHS through the maintenance of certifications for applicable standards; ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, VDA, HACCP, IFS, SQAS, Eco Vadis at their sites of responsibility
  • Meet the company targets for Co2 reduction and climate neutrality through collection and analysis  of data and dissemination of company strategy at their sites of responsibility. 
  • QEHS support and training at their sites of responsibility during launches ensuring launch objectives are achieved.      
  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations in their area.

  • Accountable for leading an engaged team at site levels, providing direction and promoting collaboration while ensuring they are enabled to carry out the goals and objectives of the business 
  • Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team (specially function with sub team), promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound.
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills 

Qualifications

  • University Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred or Bachelor’s with equivalent job experience, preferably in a chemical, environmental, engineering, or QEHS discipline 
  • Experience in QEHS management within a Logistics Environment  
  • Proficient in English
  • Knowledgeable in QEHS standards (ISO, etc) including certification process 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and can communicate effectively with all groups and levels within the organization.    
  • Good written communication

Preferred:

  • Lean or 6Sigma qualifications
  • Professional Safety Qualification or Safety NeBosh qualifications

 

Experience

  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ strong experience in a Logistics or Manufacturing Environment
  • Have experienced in leading teams within QEHS environment 
  • Are experienced in setting up management systems and integrating new sites.

Definite asset:

  • Experience in the logistics industry;
  • Experience in the automotive industry

  • Confidentiality - You consider and protect the confidentiality of company data at ALL times;
  • IT skills - You are highly proficient in the full Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio;
  • Flexibility to travel - You are ready to travel between 30 - 50% of the time across the region to our operations to perform audits on site;
  • Languages - You speak and write fluent English – additional languages are a bonus, in particular German, Polish or Hungarian
